Each year, over 10,000 children under the age of 15 are diagnosed with cancer. It's a diagnosis that can turn a family's life upside down. In an effort to bring awareness to the issue, Extended Stay America is introducing Hope the teddy bear, a cuddly symbol of kindness and comfort.
Extended Stay America has committed to provide 10,000 Hope bears to children's hospitals throughout America with the goal of bringing a smile to the face of a child battling cancer.
Would you like a Hope bear for a loved one?
For those who would like to bring Hope home to a friend, family member or loved one, Hope can be ordered and delivered to your home for $19.99. For each Hope bear purchased, Extended Stay America will donate $5.00 to the American Cancer Society toward pediatric cancer research.
Did you know about our Hotel Keys of Hope lodging program?
Getting the best care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home. This can place an emotional and financial burden on patients and caregivers during an already challenging time. Extended Stay America has committed to making this difficult situation easier for cancer patients and their families.
In 2013 Extended Stay America partnered with the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® to create the Hotel Keys of Hope℠ program, which provides free and deeply discounted hotel stays for cancer patients in need of potentially lifesaving treatment away from home. To date, Extended Stay America has donated over 130,000 hotel room nights throughout the US, helping more than 17,000 patients and their families save over $7 million in lodging costs.
To qualify for the Hotel Keys of Hope program, please call the American Cancer Society's 24-hour Cancer Information Center at (800) 227-2345. More information can be found here: American Cancer Society Partnership
Extended Stay America hotels provide a unique, home-away-from-home for cancer patients receiving treatment; amenities like fully equipped kitchens, free in-room Wi-Fi, on-site laundry facilities and pet-friendly room options, allow patients to lodge with their caregivers, children, and even beloved pets to provide healing. In-room kitchens allow guests to maintain their dietary routines and also save money by avoiding restaurant costs.
